On Saturday, June 14, JAMIn. assisted with the first ever baptismal service at the Union County Jail in Monroe, NC. Arlington Baptist Church provided the portable baptistery for the occasion. Church member Mark Waters supervised the assembly and use of the pool as 20 in- mates were baptized!
The jail is the site of the Lifeskills ministry where Jeff Andler has been involved as a teacher for almost 12 years. A second service was held on June 21. A total of 48 candidates were baptized after making professions of faith in Christ and completing thorough counseling regarding their decisions.
JAMin. partners with My Safer Communities Ministries at the jail and in other prison ministry activities during the year.
